Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.
Luke 8:39 NKJV
The man of Gadara spent his life among the tombs. He was a man full of pain, isolated and insane, cutting and destroying his body, living among the dead. The Scripture says “And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones” – Mark 5:5 NKJV.
Many of our men are destroying themselves night and day, whether with drugs, illicit affairs, drunkenness, gangs, etc.? They have left their families for a life that leads to death. But like the man of Gadara, one encounter with Jesus can change that.
Jesus delivered this captive, and he was so grateful that he wanted to become one of the disciples but Jesus told him, “Return to your own house (family), and tell what great things God has done for you.” Luke 8:39. Jesus restored this man to his family and friends, you could only imagine how they felt because for years he was a living dead – literally.
God is restoring men back to their families. He is restoring men whose lives look hopelessly lost, back to their rightful position in the home and with God. Maybe it is your husband, your son, father, brother, or uncle who needs to be restored.
Be encouraged! The Lord, the Mighty One is doing it in this season. It’s their restoration time. Rejoice and be glad!
